Can I browse without verifying my identity?
Yes. You can explore the marketplace without verification. Verification is required only to invest.
What is a token, in simple terms?
A token is a digital unit that represents your fractional share in an investment opportunity. Its rights are set by the offering documents; it does not automatically give you direct title to the property.
How does identity verification work?
Before you can place an order, you complete identity and anti-money-laundering checks (KYC/AML) with Persona, our verification provider. Persona tells you which documents it needs during the check.
Does ALTOKEN hold my wallet keys?
No. ALTOKEN is non-custodial. You link a wallet you control, such as Phantom or Solflare, by signing a free, one-time message. Wallets that unlock with Face ID or your fingerprint are coming soon. ALTOKEN never generates, stores, or uses your private key.
Which blockchain does ALTOKEN use?
Solana, with the Token-2022 standard. Each offering has one official network, fixed when it is created. ALTOKEN pays the network fees, so you don't need to hold the network's coin.
How do I pay?
At checkout, you pay by card or in USDC from your own wallet, depending on what the offering accepts. Your payment goes to the property's company (the issuer); ALTOKEN receives only its platform fee, 2.5% of the investment amount, shown before you pay. Local payment methods aren't available yet. ALTOKEN is launching in Peru first.
What is USDC, and do I need it?
USDC is a digital dollar issued by Circle: each USDC is meant to be worth 1 US dollar. You don't need it to invest. Where an offering accepts card payments, you can pay by card at checkout.
How do I receive payouts?
The property's company (the issuer) pays distributions in USDC from its own wallet to the wallet you linked; ALTOKEN never holds them. Each USDC is meant to be worth 1 US dollar. To turn USDC into your local currency, you can use an exchange of your choice; ALTOKEN doesn't provide that.
Is this risk free?
No. Real estate investing involves risk, including possible loss of capital. Review the offering documents and invest within your risk tolerance.
