- Explorer (block explorer)
- A public website that shows a blockchain's records, such as a wallet's balances and transactions. ALTOKEN links to one so you can check a token delivery or a payout yourself.
- KYC / AML
- Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering: the identity verification and screening that investors and issuers complete before they can transact.
- Network fee
- A small charge a blockchain takes to record a transaction, paid in the network's own coin (SOL on Solana). ALTOKEN pays these fees, so you don't need to hold SOL.
- Non-custodial wallet
- A wallet whose private keys only its owner controls. ALTOKEN is non-custodial: it never generates, stores, or uses an investor's keys.
- On-chain registry
- A blockchain record of token balances and transfers. At ALTOKEN, the off-chain ownership ledger is authoritative and on-chain tokens mirror it.
- Passkey (Face ID or fingerprint wallet)
- A sign-in key kept on your phone or computer and unlocked with Face ID, your fingerprint or your device PIN. A passkey wallet opens with it, so there is nothing to install. The wallet still has a recovery phrase you can export at any time, and you can add a backup passkey on another device so losing your phone doesn't lock you out. Passkey wallets open soon on ALTOKEN; until then, you can link Phantom or Solflare.
- Real-world asset (RWA)
- A physical or traditional financial asset, such as real estate, whose ownership or economic rights are represented by tokens.
- Security token
- A digital token that represents an investment, such as equity or debt, issued under securities rules. Its rights come from the offering documents.
- SPV (special purpose vehicle)
- A single-purpose legal entity that holds one asset or project, isolating it for financing, custody, and compliance.
- Stablecoin distributions
- Payouts to token holders in a dollar-pegged token, such as USDC, instead of a bank transfer.
- Test network (devnet)
- A separate copy of a blockchain used for testing, where tokens have no market value. Until launch, ALTOKEN records tokens on Solana's test network. ALTOKEN's ownership ledger is the official record, and the on-chain tokens mirror it.
- Transfer controls
- Programmable rules that limit who can hold or move a token, such as approved-holder lists, lock-up periods, and jurisdiction limits.
- USDC
- A digital dollar issued by Circle: each USDC is meant to be worth 1 US dollar. The company behind each offering (the issuer) pays distributions in USDC from its own wallet to your linked wallet.
- Wallet
- An account on a blockchain that holds your tokens. You open it with a wallet app, such as Phantom or Solflare, or, once passkey wallets open on ALTOKEN, with Face ID or your fingerprint. The property tokens you buy and the distributions you receive go to the wallet you link.
